Chattanooga Kids on the Block

The Barley Mob Brewers participated in donating 170 gallons of Beer to Chattanooga's Kids on the Block for this year's Southern Brewers Festival.

All proceeds from the 15th Annual Southern Brewers Festival benefits Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block. Chattanooga's Kids on the Block is a non-profit organization. It is a licensed child abuse prevention agency. Using the power of puppetry, our mission is to educate children about social concerns and differences, giving them the skills to stay safe and healthy.  Last year, Chattanooga's Kids on the Block, performed 489 units of service, serving over 53,000 children and adults in 12 counties of Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.

Chattanooga's Kids on the Block uses the art of bunraku puppetry in each educational program. The puppeteers wear black from head to toe, becoming the shadow behind the puppet.  This illusion allows for a unique and effective form of education. As our puppets come to life, children identify with them and open us as if they were trusted friends. Children receive an opportunity to ask questions and write letters to the puppets. All request for help are turned over to the proper authorities. If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me!  And, a huge THANK YOU for your help in making the Southern Brewers Festival a success which will benefit several thousand children and adults in our area through Chattanooga's Kids on the Block!
